Albert Chiang is the CPA, ABV, and the CFF of Hsu, Yao, Thuang, and Chiang Certified Public Accountants. Albert shares and understands his family’s story giving him a perspective that allows him to see struggles as only a challenge that he will overcome and to be grateful for where he is now.
Sandy Rosco is the Executive Director of the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce. She loves and is passionately committed to helping small businesses grow. In 2006 she helped start the Business Expo that is now held every year free to the public.
Jeff Julian is the head coach at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. He helped coach Jason Lezak before the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. In 2015 Jeff Julian was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. While going to different doctors he was losing hope because all they saw a dead man and wouldn’t consider a treatment beyond the standard care. He about lost all hope when he finally found a doctor who gave him hope and helped put him in a clinical trial for immunotherapy drugs. Now with the cancer gone he shares his story of hope and enjoys life even more than before.
Eva Lin is the broker and owner of Lin Realty Group, a boutique real estate brokerage in Pasadena. Through her journey of immigrating to America at 13, helping her parents in their restaurant, working her way through college studying entrepreneurship, interning and learning the ways in how she does and does not want to conduct business, Eva Lin has been able to build an honest solid foundation for her life. While working for Keller-Williams Realty Eva Lin won the Rookie of the Year award for real estate in North America.
Angel Yin is an American professional golfer currently playing in her 5th season (2020) on the LPGA Tour. As a junior golfer, Angel won the 7–8 year old Junior World Golf Championships, won the California State Women’s Amateur as a 12 year old and again as a 14 year old, was the youngest player at the 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur, was co-medalist at a U.S. Women’s Amateur, and was the youngest player in the field at the 2012 Women’s U.S. Open (also the second youngest in history).
Marcus grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and attended Alhambra high school. Following high school, he attended the University of California at Irvine where his life took a drastic turn. He was kicked out of college and disowned by his parents with only $100 to his name. Through grit, determination, and the support of friends, Marcus developed the skills would use later on in life to build a multi-million dollar business and open several successful restaurants.
Robert Haw, a Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) systems engineer and Interplanetary Navigator, has worked on exploration missions spanning the solar system from Mercury to Pluto. He is also the founder of JPL’s Climate Change Symposium.
Cassie Lam and her family moved from Vietnam, seeking a better life. They settled down in Monterey Park where Cassie was surrounded and grew up around the diverse immigrant population that the San Gabriel Valley is known for. She later attended Mark Keppel high school in Alhambra before leaving for college at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Council Member Andrew Rodriguez is a lifelong resident of Walnut. When elected and sworn-in, Andrew was California’s youngest council member serving in municipal government at the time. He was elected to serve as Mayor in July 2019, making him the City’s youngest Mayor in history.
