About Foundation For Living Beauty

The Foundation for Living Beauty emerged in 2005, fueled by a profound commitment to guide and empower women through their cancer journey.

Rooted in a desire to offer compassionate support, founder Amie Satchu, overseeing a globally recognized hair care company specializing in wigs and hair extensions, sought to give back to the courageous women who chose her products.

Thus, the idea of a non-profit was born – one that would provide beauty products and transformative makeovers to women navigating the challenges of cancer.

As fate would have it, during the incorporation of the non-profit, a deeply personal connection intertwined with its inception. Amie’s mother, Joni Petersen, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

The unwavering determination of Joni became the catalyst for the birth of The Foundation for Living Beauty, shaping Amie’s unwavering mission to provide comprehensive emotional and physical support to women facing cancer.

Centered initially on “look good, feel good” events, the Foundation has quickly evolved into much more.

It recognized women cancer patients’ intricate emotional and physical needs, affectionately dubbed “Living Beauties.”

Guided by a holistic approach, their organization serves as an educator that uplifts spirits and empowers women throughout their cancer journey.

The organic connections fostered among our Living Beauties have grown organically, serving as one of their most distinctive strengths, often fueled by word-of-mouth recommendations.

Joni’s journey as a social worker illuminated the significance of a robust support network for the women they support. This revelation underscored the profound impact that holistic support can have on their quality of life and overall well-being.

With a current reach spanning over 1,300 women, The Foundation for Living Beauty proudly extends an array of events, support services, and resources to women at every stage of their cancer journey.

Whether newly diagnosed, in the midst of treatment, or beyond, their purpose remains steadfast: to empower, uplift, and stand alongside these incredible individuals as they navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace.
